Archbishop Sentamu Academy Governor

Andrew is the founder Principal of Archbishop Sentamu Academy which opened on the old site in 2008. During his time as principal, he has overseen the establishment of the Sixth Form, which opened in September 2009, as well as the design and build of the new academy, which opened on Preston Road in 2011.

Building on ASA’s considerable strengths in Alternative Provision (AP), in September 2014 he led the bid under the DfE’s “Free School” programme to build ASPIRE, the largest AP academy in the country, which opened in September 2015.

In February 2015, Andrew also became the founder Executive Principal of the Sentamu Academy Learning Trust (SALT), an academy trust that currently comprises ASA, 3 local primary schools, and ASPIRE.

In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, trying to keep his two dogs under control, and playing guitar.
