After winning the Hull schools Dodgeball tournament in January, a group of 8 girls where chosen to represent the city of Hull at the Humber School Games, which was held at Hymers college on 12th July. The event pitted teams from Hull, East Riding, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.

The Archbishop girls teamed up with 8 boys from Sirius Academy and the 2 Hull teams were set to compete.

Hull A consisting of Leah Shalgosky, Paulina Kobus, Chloe Hardy and Tia Lyne. They started strongly winning many games convincingly, progressing through to the elimination rounds.

Hull B consisting of Shannon Barton, Chloe Harris, Ellie Winstanley and Erika Szilagy.They played very well and progressed to a 3rd / 4th play off place. Despite a promising start, the marathon tournament took its toll on the girls, yet they still managed to finish in a very impressive 4th position.

Hull A were now into their stride, playing well and picking up wins. The wins propelled them into the Year 7/8 Dodgeball final against Headlands. A very close and intense game went all the way, climaxing in a playoff game 2 minute ‘Winner Takes All’ match up.

Hull A controlled their nerves and dominated the final game beating Headlands to become ‘Humber School Dodgeball Champions’!

The marathon tournament was over and Hull A walked away with the trophy!
