19th July 2013 admin

On the 18th of July 2013, Mr Elliott and a selection Peripatetic teachers from Hull Music Service held an Orchestral Transition Workshop day in the Theatre. 23 Students from Years 7,8 & 9 and 30 Year 6 students were introduced to each other to work on 3 pieces of  music that were performed at the Rewards Assembly. The pieces of music that were performed were,We Will Rock You, the theme from ‘Wallace and Grommit’ and a unique rendition of Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’. The version was unique, it received acclaim from Mr Chubb who thought it was better than the original!

The workshop session represented a day of hard work, teamwork and the students enjoyment shone through with their high quality performance and standard of musicianship. Mr Elliott was impressed and immensely proud, and is looking forward to a bright future of the Orchestra, in readiness for the busy Christmas Period that awaits next term!  For more info, look at the Music Department twitter account @SentamuMusicDep or log onto www.music.sentamu.com.
