This year ASA has supported the Link to Hope charity and their Christmas appeal.
“Link to Hope is a Christian Charity dedicated to rebuilding lives and communities in Eastern Europe by supporting Education and Social Care projects in Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Albania.”
The appeal, entitled the ‘Family Shoebox Appeal’, and aims to send wrapped Christmas shoeboxes which include gifts, necessities and essentials for all the family to the countries named above. These items include things like basic toiletries and toothbrushes, colouring/writing pads and pens, small games and small items of warm clothing. The families who receive them are struggling families in countries with poor or no social welfare support system.
Archie set themselves a target of 80 shoeboxes, about 2 per tutor group, though this number was totally smashed with 149 shoeboxes put together for the appeal. The shoeboxes were picked up today!
WELL DONE to houses: Rievaulx, Whitby, Kirkham, Meaux, Byland. WELL DONE to the Hopewell Centre!
WHAT AN AMAZING AND FANTASTIC ACHIEVEMENT!
