ASA goes to Wembley (Voice in a Million)

ASA goes to Wembley (Voice in a Million)
18th March 2013 admin

On the 12th of March, Mr Elliott and Mr Edgar, accompanied by Mrs Johnson and Mr Clappison, took 18 students and 2 minibuses to Wembley Arena for the day. After setting off at 8.15 and a stop on the way down, the minibuses parked at Wembley Arena at 1pm. The check in time was 2.45pm, so Mr Elliott suggested a walk around Wembley Stadium (despite the windchill) with photos of the Wembley Arch and the Bobby Moore Statue, before retreating to TGI Fridays for a nice warm drink.

After checking in, rehearsal for the evening resumed at 4pm and ran to 5.30pm. After a break for dinner and putting on the white ‘Voice in a Million’ T-Shirts, the performance finally started at 7.30. The singing group together with a massed choir of 5000 and the stage choirs of 20-30 people, rocked the Wembley Arena!

Some students were so suitability impressive that the possibility of auditioning for next year’s ‘Stage Choir’ could be a reality.

The students were buzzing from the experience and despite the long journey, it was an experience that they will never forget! And one that could hopefully be repeated next year.

We all arrived back to the Academy at 2.30am to be greeted by snow. Energy levels now low, we were all ready for a long, long sleep.
