Career Academy Awards 2013
9th May 2013 admin

Congratulations to the Year 13 Business Studies students who graduated from Career Academy today (9th May). All 6 students in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Business Studies group successfully graduated and attended a formal graduation ceremony at Leeds City Hall along with parents, business colleagues, sixth-form staff and other students from across the north of England. Gaining Career Academy membership is no easy task. All of the students had to give up their long summer break at the end of Year 12 to work in local businesses, as well as give up their own time to attend meetings and other work commitments on top of studying for the equivalent of 3 A-levels.

Archbishop Sentamu Academy was one of two schools given the privilege of providing a guest speaker at the event. Lewis Clayton undertook this task and spoke about his experiences on his business course to over a thousand people present at the Graduation ceremony.

Dr. Heather McGregor presented the students their certificates,. As well as being the Managing Director of the Taylor Bennett Foundation, she is also famous for being “Miss Moneypenny” from Channel 4’s “Superscrimpers” programme.
