Archbishop Sentamu Academy – Charity search 2012/2013
How will we choose our charity?
Our charity for 2012/2013 will be chosen through a number of knockout rounds. Members of our community will have the opportunity to support the knock out process on a weekly basis.
How will the rounds work?
The first round involved identifying 14 possible charities that the Academy will support. We compiled a list of local and national/international charities from which members of our community could vote for. The results for round 1 can be seen below.
The second round involves each house within the academy choosing one of the 14 charities to adopt for the year. Pupils in each house will cast a vote during a tutorial period. Round 2 will open run from 15th October to 22nd October.
The third round will involve each house developing a webpage to persuade the academy community to vote for their house charity to be chosen as the main academy charity. The three charities with the most votes will progress to the final round. Round 3 will run from 18th to the 28th November. The final round will involve each house presenting their case to an independent panel who will then decide which of the three charities will be chosen. The final round will commence w/b 3rd December 2012.
The house charities have now been chosen. We now begin our quest to choose the Academy charity for the next year. The charities to chose from area:
