Modbac: adaptable for the future

The Modbac is not intended to be a fixed concept. Changes will be made in response to developing and anticipated student needs, and from suggestions made by the growing international network of users. Modbac intends to offer something for every phase of the education process:

The Modbac Journey

MINI MODBAC  (in development) for primary age learners, encouraging the growth of knowledge and skills in readiness for secondary education, and celebrating the richness and variety of non-formal and informal learning available within the primary phase of education: a celebration of progress as much as attainment

MIDDLE YEARS MODBAC (MIDBAC) for ages 10-14, acknowledging progress in knowledge and skills through a rich variety of learning experiences inside and outside the classroom, building the competencies that are critical for success at 14+ and beyond: again, with a focus on progress.

The remaining Modbacs are not age dependent, and are open to all learners, young and old. Each level builds on the previous, with graded stretch and challenge targets within each level, empowering a progressive pursuit of knowledge, encouraging a diversity of learning experience, whilst growing and strengthening at each level skills for learning, skills for employment and skills for life.

ENTRY LEVEL MODBAC for learners with special needs of all ages working below foundation level, supporting, enabling and nurturing the growth of knowledge, skills and understanding, building competency and independence

FOUNDATION LEVEL MODBAC for learners achieving and attaining at QCF Level 1 (GCSE grades G-D)

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MODBAC for learners achieving and attaining at QCF Level 2 (GCSE grades C-A*)

ADVANCED LEVEL MODBAC for learners achieving and attaining at QCF Level 3 (GCE A- Levels, IB, Level 3 Vocational, NVQ, Apprenticeships). It will contain a summary transcript of achievements at intermediate level.

HIGHER LEVEL MODBAC (in development) for learners achieving and attaining at QCF Level 4 or higher (Degree, Higher Apprenticeships, etc.). It will contain a summary transcript of achievements at advanced level.
