January 2016 – Helping your son or daughter succeed in their GCSEs
17th January 2016 admin

Last week, Y11 students all received their “Pre-public exam” results, in an event that aimed to replicate what it would feel like when they received their actual GCSE results in August.  Whilst some students were pleased with their results, others felt that they had not done themselves justice.  The good news is that most students agreed they needed to work harder, and were keen to do so.

One of the best ways you can help your son or daughter improve their results is by encouraging them to attend “SPS” – Supervised Private Study – between 3 and 4 pm every day.  Each subject has its “own” evening, to ensure that students can receive support in all their subjects.   We have been running this system successfully since September, and students who attend are telling us that they find it supportive and helpful. Currently, over 100 students from Y11 attend each night – but we can take more!
