Pam Davies is CEO of Age UK Hull and East Riding.
Pam is a Lancashire lass born just outside Wigan. She started her career path working for Nat West bank, a career that would last over 22 years working in various roles in many different areas of the country.
In 2000, Pam decided to have a complete change in her career and became a full time Trade Union Official working for the TUC in Yorkshire and Humber, initially in the education and training department where she was the author and manager of a number of European funded projects. These in the main were around the re-training agenda and helping members (especially older workers) gain new skills through training and upskilling opportunities.
An opportunity arose to work for the national charity, Age Concern England in 2006, where she was again at the forefront of assisting people with changes in their lives. The skills she had gained through her work in the trade union movement were used to good effect, in helping people with a wide range of issues. After 7 years with Age Concern England and latterly Age UK in a number of varied management roles in the north of England, Pam was appointed Chief Executive of Age UK Hull in August 2013. Age UK Hull and East Riding is a large local charity which operates from a purpose built Healthy Living Centre in Hull city centre where a wide range of facilities are available to ensure older people are able to enjoy life to the full, improving both their independence and health and wellbeing.
Pam is very interested in all things cultural and is a City of Culture volunteer and was heavily involved throughout 2017 supporting many of the amazing events across the City. She spent a great number of years volunteering with Girl Guiding in many different roles and is very interested in young people and how education and other opportunities can shape their futures.
