Over the last two weeks, year 8 have experienced an international focus fortnight. This time the country and culture focus on was Poland.
ASA is committed to developing an international ethos in our Academy, aiming to provide all students with the learning to equip them to be ambassadors as Global Citizens. Global Citizens are not only aware of differences but embrace and celebrate differences between cultures and communities. As part of this objective, Archie has a link school and a close working partnership with a school in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland. The focus fortnight supports this by providing students with a better understanding of a different culture.
Over the two weeks, students have had learning experiences in registration time and also special curriculum lessons such as in Art and cooking.
We look forward to running a trip to visit Kuchnia, a local Polish restaurant to try more examples of Polish cuisine before Christmas.
