TEACHING VACANCIES
Teacher of Leisure & Tourism to start September 2013
Archbishop Sentamu Academy is at an exciting time in its development. An 11-18 academy sponsored by the Diocese of York, we achieved “Good with Outstanding Features” in our OfSTED inspection in 2011, “Outstanding” in our section 48 SIAS inspection, and have enjoyed four successive years of strongly rising exam results. In 2012 61% of students gained 5+ A* to C including English and Maths, and 100% achieved 5+ A* to C. This had led to us being in the top 100 most improved schools in the country over the last four years (39th), the second most improved in Yorkshire.
Due to the continued expansion of our curriculum we are currently looking for a motivated, qualified Teacher of Leisure and Tourism to join us in September 2013. This role would be to deliver Leisure and Tourism to key stage 4 however there may be the potential for developing this subject in the 6th form. An ability and willingness to teach Geography would be an advantage.
