The Diocese of York is excited to be the sponsor of its first Church of England Academy. The academy opened in 2008 in the building of its predecessor school, Archbishop Thurstan School. We moved into state of the art new buildings in September 2011, at the heart of a learning village serving the community of East Hull. Archbishop Sentamu Academy aims to be  a centre of educational excellence with a distinctive Christian ethos, striving to:

  • Raise aspirations and achievement for all;
  • Develop confident, open-minded young people; and
  • Encourage love of learning, eagerness to succeed and willingness to participate.

CURRICULUM SUPPORT ASSISTANT (MATHS) VACANCY

Job Details:

  • Grade 4 SPC 5-7,
  • 37 hours per week Term Time only.
  • Starting salary £15,594 (FTE £18,795)
  • To start September 2019

We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfil a Curriculum Support Assistant role to complement the professional work of our teachers to support the general learning of students to raise attainment.

The position is for a fixed term period for a year in the first instance

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children age 11-18, a strong character, persistence, plenty of enthusiasm and the desire to help make a difference. 

A minimum of GCSE grade B or above (or equivalent) in Mathematics and grade C or above in English is essential and A level (or equivalent) in Mathematics would be a distinct advantage.

The position will involve providing appropriate one-to-one support for an individual student or supporting a small group of students of any ability and in any curriculum area but predominantly English. However the post holder must be flexible to ensure the operational needs of the school are met which may include undertaking of duties of a similar nature and responsibility as and when required.

The role is ideal for someone who is looking to start a career in a teaching environment.
