It is my pleasure to welcome you to Archbishop’s Sentamu Academy Sixth Form. Currently in its seventh year, our Sixth form goes from strength to strength! If you speak to any of our students, they will tell you that they enjoy the real sense of community we have managed to create for them. We pride ourselves on our excellent personalised advice and guidance, as well as on our dedication to supporting each and every student, whatever their future ambitions.

Life at our Sixth Form will challenge you, inspire you and prepare you for the next steps in your life and career. We offer a range of A-levels and vocational courses, designed to suit your individualised educational pathway. Our progress over the past three years has been consistently improving. In keeping with our Academy ethos, our team of dedicated, specialist staff will always go ‘the extra mile’ to ensure all of our students feel valued and supported to succeed. As a result, each year more and more of our graduates secure top apprenticeships, and places at a range of universities (including Russell Group).

Work Experience

“Being a part of Archbishop Sentamu Academy has been a really rewarding experience.  All students are enthusiastic and seem happy in their studies.  My course has enabled me to gain in confidence and I have gained useful knowledge and skills that will help me in my chosen career.  Teachers are always on hand to help and the Sixth Form has a really strong pastoral team.”
Sam (Y13)

“This school and the people in it have done so much to help shape me and my aspirations into the young adult that I am today, and it has allowed me to believe I am capable of absolutely anything, if I put my mind to it. And it’s this support that brought me back here for sixth form. I was accepted to various colleges but it was the strength and support, both educationally and pastorally, that the school continually offers to the thousands of students that have worked their way through our academy over the years that kept me here. Whether those people have gone on to university or straight into working, our school has offered as much support as possible to those students I know this as I’ve experienced this first hand. As I’ve gone through the process of applying to various universities I have received so much support in how to apply, and help regarding my personal statement. Martin Luther King Jr once said ‘intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education’, for me that quote summarises our school perfectly. It fills me with great pleasure being a part of something so wonderful.”
