Where’s your head at?

Where’s your head at?

‘Do not be worried about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus’ Philippians 4:6

I don’t know about you but when someone says ‘don’t worry’, if I am worried, I don’t respond very positively to that phrase! The person who has said that clearly doesn’t understand what it is that is actually causing me to worry in the first place! This week’s  Collective Worship for Tutor Groups is all about emotions and how we respond when it just feels that everything is too much. If we are honest with ourselves we probably all think of times when we feel pushed to our limits. Sometimes we can battle on, and sometimes we can feel like we are about to fall apart.

The quote above from the bible is a reminder that God cares for us and is longing to hear from us. It may seem surprising but when we are at our wits end, prayer will get us through, bringing peace to our turmoil. You don’t have to go to a special place to do that, God hears us, right where we are. However, don’t forget the academy chapel is there as a quiet space to pray in for everyone.

May you know God’s peace in your heart this week.
